Red Ridge Outdoor Centre

discover red ridge outdoor adventure centre located in the beautiful welsh hills of mid wales, close to the english/welsh border.  combine an exciting mix of fun and adventure which can be combined with school project work. It's the perfect getaway for Primary and secondary schools with comfortable accommodation for a 3 or 5 day residential trip.

As an accredited LOtC school trip provider, we are pleased to offer a jam-packed adventure programme at Red Ridge Outdoor Centre, located 16 miles from the Welsh market town of Welshpool. Featuring a range of rewarding activities from high ropes to Canadian canoeing, archery to raft building, rock climbing to cycling and more! It's the perfect trip to allow children of all abilities to expand their horizons and take them out of their comfort zones yet, safe in the knowledge that all activities are taught by fully qualified, DBS checked staff in a safe, friendly environment.  The centre has provided specialist outdoor education courses to school children for over 35 years and is licensed under the Adventure Activities Licensing Service (AALS).

A chance for children to enjoy fun a packed range of activities in the glorious Welsh countryside. COGO Travel will work with your school to create an activity timetable with your requests taken into account. Our priority is to provide quality residential trips that are fun, safe and educational whilst staying in comfortable accommodation on a full board basis.

Here's an example of a typical 5 day itinerary which can be tailored to suit your educational needs and the abilities and requirements of your school children.

Day Morning Afternoon Evening
1 Travel from school to Red Ridge Adventure Centre After a welcome from the activity team try your hand at high ropes. This evening a range of fun team challenges will be set, who will be the winning team?
2 After breakfast, it's time to head to the water and grab your paddles as you embark on a spot of kayaking. This afternoon's activity is on two wheels, hop on your bikes for some fun cycling around the Welsh countryside. Artificial caving - a chance to experience real caving but in a safe controlled environment. Great for strengthening your upper body but also something that will stimulate the brain cells too!
3 Time to perfect your aim, as after breakfast it's archery, expertly taught on the archery range Following lunch it's raft building. A great team work challenge but, will your raft sink or float? More team challenges, who will win this time?
4 Following breakfast, we'll be abseiling - a great activity as you learn how to descend down a steep slope safely. This afternoon's activity will focus on climbing up a local rugged rock face or why not try the 8 metre high climbing wall for those looking to build their confidence? It's your final evening and time to throw some moves at our disco night, lots of fun to be had by all!
5 Following breakfast, it's hill walking, a chance to go walking amongst the local streams, lakes and rolling hills of Wales. Return journey back to school.
