1 Your flight time to China is approximately 10 hours. Make sure you get some rest on the flight ahead of your exciting itinerary
2 Arrive in Beijing. Meet your guide & transfer to your hotel Visit Beihai Park, the largest & oldest ancient imperial garden in China from the 10th Century. Main highlights include the White Dagoba, the Nine-Dragon Screen & the Five-Dragon Pavilions Sample the delights of a traditional Chinese meal
3 Visit the Sacred Way & the Ming Tomb. Constructed in 1540, this archway is the oldest & biggest in China today Discover the Great Wall of China parts of which are thought to date back to the 7th Century. En route back to Beijing see the impressive National Stadium, ‘Bird’s Nest’, which hosted the Olympic Games in 2008 Enjoy some Sichuan food in a local restaurant followed by an Acrobatic Show at the Chaoyand Theatre. See spectacular routines of strength & flexibility
4 Depart for Tianamen Square. Visit the Monument to the People’s Heroes & the National Museum of China. Tour the Forbidden City in the centre of Beijing Visit a local Chinese food market & soak up the culture.Try some exotic snacks like scorpions, sparrow or grasshopper! Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site Temple of Heaven, the inspiration of architecture in the Far East over many centuries After dinner attend a Chinese Kung Fu Show! The performance is a mix of acrobatics, dance & kung fu
5 Take a walk on Wángfŭjĭng Avenue, Beijing’s most famous shopping streets, for some shopping Depart for Shanghai on the high speed train service. The journey time is approximately 5 hours Check into your accommodation in Shanghai
6 This morning you will start your visit in the Shanghai Museum where you will be able to see impressive examples of Chinese art, ancient bronze, ceramics, coins, sculptures and Ming & Qing furniture Then you will visit the ancient water town of Zhujiajioa. Here you will see the well preserved Ming and Qing architecture, ancient stone bridges & ancient streets Sample the delights of a traditional Chinese meal
7 Visit the 100-storey Shanghai World Financial Centre for a spectacular view of downtown Shanghai & the Huang Pu River from a height of 474 metres. Cross the river to visit the Bund, a famous waterfront with dozens stunning buildings which used to house banks & trading houses from all over the world Then onto Nanjing Road which is one of the world's busiest shopping streets to pick up a souvenir before departing for home Take an overnight flight back to the UK to arrive the following morning
