Day Morning Afternoon Evening
1 Depart for Naples Arrive & transfer to your hotel in the Bay of Naples Check in to your accommodation. After your evening meal have some ice-cream in one of the local geletarias… yum!
2 Start the day with a visit to Mount Vesuvius where you will be able to see the volcano's crater & great views of the Bay of Naples Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pompeii which was buried under ash & pumice after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Take a guided tour of Pompeii giving an insight into life during the Roman Empire Enjoy an evening meal locally in Sorrento
3 Visit Herculaneum & see the preserved remains of this holiday resort from 79 AD which was buried under the pyroclastic flow of volcanic mud Take an excursion along the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Amalfi Coast After your evening meal go bowling in central Sorrento
4 Spend the day on the beautiful island of Capri, reached by a hydrofoil boat from Sorrento. Catch a boat from Marina Grande around the island, the highlight of which is a visit to the famous Blue Grotto Return to the pier and take a funicular railway up to Capri Town & take a stroll around. Walk east to Villa Jovis, once the retirement home of Emperor Tiberius Return to Sorrento
5 Travel to Solfatara of Pozzuoli in the Phlegraean Fields with its impressive fumarole blowing jets of sulphur. If you have time, drop into the Naples National Archaeological Museum where you will see a large collection of Roman artifacts from Pompeii, Stabiae & Herculaneum Depart on an afternoon flight home
